An Indian Summer is a festival focused on sharing the sights, sounds and wonders of South Asia in the heart of Britain.
The Brief
LINDLEY:PRODUCTIONS provided project management, installation and tech support across four of the events during the two day festival produced by Inspirate.
- Installation of PA and large LED screen as well as tech support for an outdoor film screening.
- Sound technician, lighting and projection for an evening of drag and cabaret.
- Production management for small showcase stage.
- Installation of large scale artworks.
Outdoor Cinema
Showcasing the movie Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani on a 7m x 5m LED screen, suitable for daylight hours. From concept through to delivery we oversaw every aspect of this technical install, from providing power, working alongside the council for planning through to the crystal clear sound and high-quality LED screen for a seamless outdoor cinema experience.
Art Install
Working with artist Anisha Parmar we installed four large fabric pieces of art from her My Adornment is my Power exhibition. These items had previously been shown in a stately home and our job was to implement them into a modern building and hang them from metal walkways. Unable to drill into the building we created a hanging system that could safely and securely hold the artwork without damaging the facilities or the artwork itself, resulting in a show-stopping display.
Production Management
Working with the technical team at Curve Theatre and directly with the artists we provided production management for all events in the foyer, from dance performances to musical displays.
Shakti Unleashed: An evening of Drag & Cabaret
What fun it was to production manage and provide technical support for this vibrant and groundbreaking show. LINDLEY:PRODUCTIONS provided portable LED lighting, Sennheiser wireless microphone system, Allen & Heath mixing desk as well as small scale indoor projection for this celebration of artistry, diversity and pride.
