The Brief

Technically manage and provide audio visual support for the following elements for the live concert;

  • Live camera relay to IMAG screens.
  • Video playback and graphic overlay onto two large flown projector screens.
  • High quality recording.
  • Stage lighitng
  • Special effects and pyrotechnics

Audio Visual

We used x2 16:9 fast fold screens with the Panasonic PT-RZ120 12k lumen laser projectors, these projectors were chosen to ensure the screen brightness was crisp and bright under stage lighting.

For cameras we used a combination of Panasonic PTZ AW-UE80 controlled via AW-RP60GJ and Blackmagic Design Studio 4K manually operated cameras being fed into the Black Magic Design 2m/e Constellation.

Lower thirds, graphics and video were delivered from vMix software making use of the Fill and Key (alpha channel) output.

Lighting

We supplemented the in-house production lighting with a ground package made up of Tri Power Batten MkII and 12 x RGBW Pars. We also added movement with the use of a selection of Elation Fuse SFX and Chauvet rogue R1 Fx-B for that full 360 spin which made great beams using 2 x Smoke Factory Tour Hazer II.

Special FX & Pyrotechnics

To ensure a memorable end to the concert we opted for several special FX units such as the flames, sparxtars, cannons and multicoloured air fetti. Our team safely rigged and programmed the pyrotechnics to ensure we had a safe but high impact ending to the show.

The Biggest Challenge

We have a wealth of experience working with large ensembles in large scale venues, this experience was essential when planning the logistics of moving the different schools around the stage from their starting positions in the Massed Choirs to the solo performance space.

To achieve this, we deployed a matrix segregating the areas of the stage/choir seats and off stage areas to make sure that no overlaps were created and plenty of time was given for each school to get into place for their performance.
