The Brief

To illuminate the historic grounds of Nottingham Castle and projection map stunning visual artwork onto the castle itself. Alongside the visuals we needed to provide a high-quality sound system in order to fully immerse and captivate the audience. We also provided technical support and PA for the activities held on the bandstand throughout the event.

60,000 lumens of projected light were used to showcase Orbit, the brilliant artwork from artist Rebecca Smith of Urban Projections. Working closely together to ensure her artwork was clear and sharp for every showing from set-up throughout the whole Nottingham Light Night weekend.

Orbit is an immersive and impactful work of art with a dynamic soundtrack from electronic music producer Kirk Spencer. We needed to ensure that each one of the 21,000 visitors would feel submerged into the artwork wherever they were stood across the upper castle grounds. We chose Inspired Audio vector line array PA systems for sound clarity and depth.

Across the lower castle grounds we added metre upon metre of festoon lighting alongside multiple SGM Q7’s, Astera Ax9’s and spotlights in order to create a colourful and enticing ambiance from the moment guests entered the grounds.
